Papatura Island Retreat is the Solomon Island's newest holiday destination and Santa Isabel's first world standard tourism project.
At Papatura we want you to step off the map and leave your worries behind and enjoy a pace of life that is rarely experienced in the modern world.
Papatura Island Retreat is located on an idyllic sandy bay with superb swimming and crystal clear blue waters teaming with marine life right in front of your bungalow. We offer pure isolation and privacy with modern comforts… Total relaxation or if you’re adventurous, there’s a wide range of leisure activities and cultural experiences to keep you busy during your stay. We're situated approximately 8 minutes from the airport by boat. With awesome fishing and surfing, world class reefs for snorkelling, great rainforest and beach walks and a true cultural experience unspoilt by mass tourism Papatura will fast become a sort after gem of the Pacific.
The Retreat has been build with natural environment in mind using local bush materials, we are very conscious of the environment and have taken great care with the planning and set out of the retreat. We have linked up the bungalows, toilets and restaurant and bar with raise timber walkways and are proud to say that we are wheelchair friendly. The entire retreat has a 180 degree view across the turquoise waters of the bay to the coconut groves and the Isabel mountain range which makes for amazing sunsets.
The Deck Bar and Restaurant is informal barefoot dining and a great place to chill out with a good book in the day bed, browse thru our library or have a few cold drinks with other guests.
3 meals a day are included
Breakfast is continental with tropical fruits that are in season and for Lunch and Dinner, we offer a wide variety of meals.
Our produce is grown in the local villages and delivered fresh to the island and we do have some imported goodies.
Fresh Fish and seafood are a speciality of this area with fruits, vegetables and root crops like sweet potato all prepared in traditional and home style cooking. Your Menu may include Salads, Rice, Pasta, Pizza and a variety of meats as available.
Our cook, with the help of local women will make sure you get tasty meals and expose you to new ones.
Vegetarians are also catered for however we have a $10 per day surcharge for non seafood meat eating guests.
The bar is stocked with icy cold Sol Brew beer, basic spirits, Australia white and red wines and bubbles and a full range of soft drinks.
